Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are the classes suitable for beginners.
A. There are beginners joining the club every week. You will be integrated into the main class at your own pace.
Q. Do we need any special equipment.
A. No, all equipment is provided for beginners, however you should aim to purchase your own gloves and shin pads after a few sessions.
Q. What do I need to wear.
A. The same clothes you would wear to a gym, loose fitting shorts or tracksuit bottoms. We do often train bare foot, so short toenails please.
Q. Is there a membership fee.
A. Not currently, although this is under review.
Q. How much are the classes.
A. £4 per session.
Q. Do I have to fight.
A. Partner work is key to our training program, but all contact is kept to a minimum for beginners.
Q. Do you enter tournaments.
A. For those interested in competing there are various tournaments we regularly attend. All students wishing to compete must hold a WKA License.
Q. What is the minimum/maximum age.
A. 15-50
Q. What style of Kickboxing is it.
A. GKC is a freestyle club teaching strong boxing skills & kicks. We train full-contact on the pads but all partner work is strictly controlled and sparring is light/semi-contact.
